Myanmar begins rotational power distribution amid rising dry-season demand

Myanmar has started rotational power distribution to align electricity consumption with available generation as demand rises ahead of the dry season, the Ministry of Electricity and Energy said. The plan, launched Oct 5, will be used minimally to reduce overloads driven by El Nino-related higher temperatures, which could cause plant shutdowns, grid faults and a nationwide power collapse.
