Shiv Sena (UBT) has intensified its criticism of the Election Commission over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, with the party raising the issue through its Mumbai-based mouthpiece, Saamana. The editorial alleged political bias and questioned the functioning of the poll body. The ECI has maintained that SIR decisions were approved unanimously by all three Election Commissioners.
