Mumbai bid farewell to Lord Ganesh as more than 16,000 idols were immersed across the city on the final day of Ganeshotsav. The BMC recorded 16,154 immersions by 9 pm, including community and household idols, while no untoward incidents were reported. More than 24,000 police personnel and 25,000 civic staff were deployed, with lifeguards, medical teams and ambulances at immersion sites.
