Move over, ACs! 16-year-old Amaira Kapoor’s Project Vaayu turns discarded terracotta cups into coolers that lower classroom temperatures by up to 10°C. 🌱

Sixteen-year-old Amaira Kapoor from Gurugram created Project Vaayu, using upcycled terracotta cups to build low-cost evaporative coolers that lowered classroom temperatures by 6°C to 10°C during testing. Five units were installed across four government primary schools, reaching over 400 students. Kapoor plans sensor integration, volunteer training, and expansion while promoting climate education and material reuse.
