Middle East conflict casts shadow over global travel

The Middle East conflict has disrupted global travel through airspace closures, cancellations, rerouting and higher fuel costs, undermining traveler confidence and connectivity. UN Tourism expects 2026 international arrivals growth to be one to two percentage points below the 3 to 4 percent forecast. Key hubs Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Bahrain suffered operational disruptions; cruise itineraries and oil prices were also affected.
