At an event on the IIT Madras campus in Chennai, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was interrupted when supporters of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay cheered and waved 'PM Vijay 2029' placards after his mention of Vijay. Police asked the crowd to remove the signs and calm down. Modi had been inaugurating projects, including a new 15 km Chennai Metro stretch.
