Born blind, 50-year-old sculptor Ram Pal travels annually from Nikunj Nagar, West Bengal, to Baburhawa in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, spending six months making about 40 to 50 clay Durga and Ganesha idols with family assistance. He shapes figures by touch, gained recognition including Asian Paints' Sharad Samman, and relies on this traditional craft for his family's livelihood.
