Medieval fort and Bronze Age flint unearthed during drainage project excavations in Co Dublin

Archaeologists uncovered a medieval ringfort and an early Bronze Age flint scraper at Sheephill in Abbotstown during preparatory excavations for the Greater Dublin Drainage project. The scheme will serve about 500,000 people and support up to 185,000 homes across north Dublin, Meath and Kildare; finds were recorded and artefacts will be deposited in the National Museum of Ireland.
