India's registered manufacturing sector employed 2.10 crore people in 2024-25, adding about 14.08 lakh jobs, the MoSPI Annual Survey of Industries showed. Industrial output rose 7.81%, GVA grew 9.59% to Rs 26.94 lakh crore, and fixed capital increased 10.54%. Registered manufacturing establishments and operating factories also expanded, with employment concentrated in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
