An analysis of self-reports from over 6.1 million people in 118 countries found women experience more pain than men across all 11 body regions studied. Pain often increases before age 55 and peaks in mid-to-late adulthood, while lower-income countries face greater late-life pain, especially lower back, and women are less likely to receive adequate pain treatment.
