An India-backed Virgin Coconut Oil project was launched in Tarawa, Kiribati, to boost local coconut value chains and economic opportunities. Funded with US$900,000 from the India-UN Development Partnership Fund and implemented by UNDP, it will establish VCO processing plants on Nonouti and Teraina, provide training and capacity building, and support farmers, women’s cooperatives and communities, officials said at the launch.
