Fifteen-year-old Tanvi Patri became the first Indian woman to reach the Youth Olympic Games badminton final, guaranteeing India its first women's singles medal. Patri edged Japan's second seed Yuzuno Watanabe 21-14, 11-21, 21-19 in a 54-minute semi-final and will face China's World Junior champion Yi Xin Zhang in the gold-medal match.
