Reena Bhatti, a mountaineer from Balak village in Hisar district, summited the 7,355-metre Abi Gamin technical peak in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district in September, unfurling the Tricolour. She led the civilian team as the only woman among 12, in a joint expedition with ITBP, the Indian Army and an Argentine team. The 23-day climb involved nine- to eleven-hour approach days and severe food and water shortages.
