A social panchayat in Haryana’s Hisar district has passed a resolution opposing love marriages within the village, after three such marriages were reported in recent months. The gathering, attended by around 1,000 villagers, also proposed social action against couples, their families and supporters. The elected village panchayat said it had no role in the decision.
