Gujarat Is Set to Expand Its CCTV Network With Help From Citizens

Gujarat Police are planning to expand the state’s CCTV surveillance network with greater participation from residents, housing societies and traders. The move builds on Ahmedabad’s model, where more than 24,000 cameras were installed with public support between 2024 and 2026. Gujarat already has over 3.88 lakh private CCTV cameras, but police want wider coverage of roads, parking areas and key entry points.
