A long-distance cyclist will ride 425 miles from Sheffield to the Eiffel Tower over seven days, wearing an orangutan suit to raise £1,500 for the Sumatran Orangutan Society. Peter McEvoy will depart on 7 September and pass through Derby, Northampton, London and Canterbury before crossing the Channel into France, using the costume to raise awareness and spark conversations about orangutans and rainforest conservation.
