Asaduddin Owaisi accused India's ruling parties and Election Commission of marginalising Muslims, calling SIR a 'backdoor NRC' that burdens the poor with documentary proof. Speaking at India Today Conclave South in Kochi, he criticised BJP, RSS and secular parties for treating Muslims as mere voters, demanded scrapping SIR, warned against delimitation and urged genuine political representation rather than token gestures.
