In May 2025, Lieutenant Commander Yashasvi Solanki became the first woman officer from any of India’s Army, Navy, or Air Force to be appointed Aide-de-Camp to the President of India. A logistics officer from Haryana, she received the aiguillette on May 9, 2025, after selection, security clearances and orientation. Her appointment marks a significant step toward broader inclusion of women in senior ceremonial military roles.
