Indian philosophy identifies ignorance (Avidya) as mistaking the impermanent for the permanent and the non-self for the self, causing suffering. Through Jnana, cultivated by abhyasa, vairagya and swadhyaya, and yogic practices like yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, meditation and samadhi, practitioners develop Sakshi Bhava, unmask conditioning, and awaken to clarity, balance, freedom and compassion.
