France To Get First Major Hindu Temple As BAPS Mandir In Paris Prepares For September Inauguration

France will receive its first major traditional Hindu temple, the BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir in Bussy-Saint-Georges, Paris, scheduled for inauguration in September. The opening will be celebrated with a 13-day Festival of Culture from September 2-14, 2026, blessed by Mahant Swami Maharaj. The temple, crafted in India and assembled in France, has drawn pride from the Indian diaspora and will host religious ceremonies and cultural programmes.
