France is backing the India-EU trade deal as a way to take the partnership beyond tariffs and into fast-growing sectors such as AI, space, healthcare and defence. French Minister Benjamin Haddad said the agreement could eliminate €4 billion in annual tariffs and potentially double trade, while helping India and Europe build stronger supply chains and attract more investment.
