A tiny land snail once listed extinct was rediscovered on Norfolk Island in 2020, prompting Australia's first large-scale snail breeding and reintroduction. From 46 founder Campbell's keeled glass-snails collected for a Taronga Zoo captive programme, conservationists released over 1,300 individuals back to Norfolk Island National Park by 2026, with ongoing monitoring to assess survival and reproduction.
