The Nigeria Customs Service repatriated Bili, a baby gorilla confirmed by DNA to be Congolese, to the Republic of Congo between September 22, 28, 2026. The full-cycle operation involved interception, rehabilitation at Pandrillus in Calabar, and international partners, following CITES rules. SWO recorded 22 wildlife seizures, rescued 699 animals and arrested 11 suspects from January to September 2026.
