The Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Department has formed a 12-member expert committee to review student council elections across state universities and affiliated colleges. The panel will recommend guidelines aimed at making elections more transparent while reducing external political interference and commercialisation. It will also examine representation for women and reserved-category students, along with participation from NSS, NCC, sports and cultural departments.
