The Cockroach Janata Party and other civil society groups staged a protest at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on October 2 over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The group has demanded Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. Mumbai Police had denied permission for the planned gathering, citing existing court directions, civic clearances and traffic concerns.
