Bengaluru police registered a zero FIR against Uttarakhand BJP leaders over an alleged purification ritual at Haldwani's Ramlila after Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge spoke there. The complaint accuses participants, including Uttarakhand BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt, of casteist conduct and promoting untouchability; charges cite the Protection of Civil Rights Act, SC/ST atrocity laws and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and it will be transferred to Haldwani police.
