Blue economy offers waves of opportunity

India’s 11,098-kilometre coastline and marine resources are central to a national Blue Economy strategy driving prosperity, sustainability and strategic strength. The plan links fisherfolk livelihoods, offshore renewables, marine biotechnology, aquaculture, ports, tourism and ocean science, aiming for climate resilience, technological self-reliance and economic growth through integrated governance, investment, innovation and inclusion of coastal communities and youth.
