Bhopal’s Municipal Corporation will install CCMS panels across over 50,000 streetlights, costing about Rs 2.75 crore, to automate dusk-to-dawn switching and fault alerts. Each panel controls 100, 200 lights and can cut unnecessary usage; a trial of 300 panels reportedly saved roughly 10% in monthly electricity bills. Tendering has begun and installations are expected to start by late October.
