Research involving 11,500 adults aged 60 to 85 found that brief daily brain-stimulating activities such as crosswords, reading, music, games or learning new skills can maintain and sometimes reverse cognitive impairment. All study groups improved after 12 months, and digital support plus facilitator contact produced slightly greater gains. Longer follow-up and analysis are needed to confirm sustained dementia prevention.
