The Delhi Development Authority has made structural audits mandatory for high-rise buildings constructed under approvals issued before March 21, 2001. The rule covers buildings 15 metres or taller, as well as high-footfall places such as hospitals, schools and institutional buildings. Owners have three months to complete the assessment, with retrofitting or corrective work required where needed.
