Bangladesh’s Water Resources Minister Shahiduddin Chowdhury Anee said a new Ganges water-sharing treaty with India is expected to be signed before the current agreement expires on 12 December. He emphasized restoring the 1977 guarantee clause, ongoing Joint Rivers Commission talks, and progress on Padma Barrage and a Teesta feasibility study aimed to begin main construction in 2027.
