AIIMS doctors, along with experts from Imperial College London and other organizations, completed a study called TOPSPIN to find the best drug combinations for treating high blood pressure in India. The trial tested three two-drug combinations: Amlodipine/Perindopril, Perindopril/Indapamide, and Amlodipine/Indapamide, known for lowering blood pressure and reducing heart risks. Single-pill combinations are easier for patients, improve results, and have fewer side effects. This first-of-its-kind study for Indian patients could improve hypertension management and benefit millions in India and South Asia.
