The EU, Canada and 30 countries have launched the OceanEye International Alliance to strengthen global ocean monitoring. The initiative has secured nearly €220 million in pledges, including €92 million from the EU and C$82 million from Canada. The funding will support ocean sensors, research vessels, data systems and other observation networks used for weather forecasting, climate monitoring, coastal protection and marine conservation.
