Japan’s Yuki Kurihara has won gold in the Puyo Puyo Champions esports event at the 2026 Asian Games, defeating South Korea’s Kang Dongshin 10-2 in the final. Just 11 years old, Kurihara is believed to be the youngest-ever Asian Games gold medallist. He reportedly trains for around eight hours a day while keeping up with school and discovered esports in kindergarten.
