Sumati Morarjee transformed Indian shipping into a platform for cultural exchange and national pride. Joining Scindia Steam Navigation at 20, she helped build a 43-vessel fleet, founded the Narottam Morarjee Institute of Shipping, and led industry bodies internationally. Despite later financial decline and government takeover, she earned global recognition and the Padma Vibhushan for pioneering leadership.
