India and ASEAN navies have begun joint maritime exercise AIME-26 in Subic Bay, Philippines, strengthening regional naval cooperation. The exercise includes manoeuvres, communication drills, search-and-rescue exercises and professional exchanges, allowing participating forces to practise procedures and improve coordination. It also focuses on preparedness for maritime-security challenges, including piracy, smuggling, accidents and navigation hazards.
